My kids can’t resist those ground fountains in front of the DeWitt-Seitz Marketplace in Canal Park.
We are usually passing through to another activity, so Tim and I are often saying, “Don’t get your clothes wet!”
So I thought, why not have them wear their swimsuits on a hot summer day to fully enjoy the sprays of water?
They had a blast.
It wasn’t until after the outing that it occurred to me that we don’t really know from where the water comes.
So I called the city.
The good news: the water originates from treated city water.
The other news: it’s a closed system, which means it circulates the same water over and over with no filtration…so probably not wise to drink it.
Yes, as you can tell from the pictures above, my kids put their faces directly in the pressurized spray.
And, despite the conditions, they survived.
And Tim and I enjoyed chips and salsa on the outdoor patio of Little Angie’s while the kids had some urban summer fun.
