Daley rewrote the lyrics to a familiar song:
Take me out to the ballgame.
Take me on a wet day.
So I did. On a recent drizzly day, we went to a Duluth Huskies amateur league baseball game.
It was a ball!
The stands are covered so we were out of the elements, but still outside.
The kid-friendly atmosphere included high-fiving Harley D. Huskie (the mascot), dancing to music between batters, catching balls off the big brick wall, retrieving foul balls and between-inning games on the field for kids.
Here’s my biggest tip: don’t think you are lucky if you get a front row parking spot. I moved our car after the first inning when I realized where most of the foul balls land!
As for cost, we scored free tickets from a YMCA event, but kids 5 and under are always free (see ticket prices here). Also, they have “Every Monday Matters” in which you get one free general admission ticket for donating certain items (contact the ticket office for details here).
