Every year we try to figure out how to bring the kids’ Halloween costumes alive by going outside for an adventure. Last year, I wrote about our forest fairy hike and the fun they had hiding in the woods.
This year, having a shark and a veterinarian in the family, we naturally spent an afternoon at Brighton Beach.
Finley pretended to be a sick shark that got washed up onto the shore.
Daley, the marine life veterinarian, was called to the scene to administer care.
Of course, Outside In Duluth News was there to film the unusual sighting.
Kids love dressing up and acting out different characters. It’s a great way to foster their imaginations. Bringing the costumed play into nature adds a new dimension to Halloween fun.
A quick shout out to Payton, Finley’s pal, who lent her the super cool shark costume and our fabulous neighbor, Kelly, for decking out Daley.
What was your child this year for Halloween? Can you think of an outdoor adventure that extends their Halloween costume fun? Share your ideas in the comment box below. Thanks!
