Living in a town built on a hill requires learning how to bike down some steep roads.
We found the perfect place for Daley to practice: Seven Bridges Road. It has been closed to auto traffic since several major washouts occurred during the June 2012 flood.
We started at the intersection of E Skyline Parkway and Maxwell Road and zigzagged our way to Lester Park where we had a pre-placed car parked (the thought of biking up Seven Bridges Road was less appealing with a 6 and a 2 year old in tow).
The road is paved, the views of the waterfalls are fabulous, and Amity Creek offers a lot of opportunities to throw rocks (a favorite pastime of my kids).
The Duluth News Tribune reports that Seven Bridges Road is slated to re-open to cars this August (2014).
Where do you bike in the area with kids? Share an idea in the comment box below. Thanks!
