Daley, my 9-year-old son, was the trail leader the entire 75+ miles we backpacked on the Superior Hiking Trail (SHT). This video showcases my view while we were moving.
You’ll see we passed through varied landscapes and on a variety of footpath surfaces.
We sloshed through mud, clambered over downed trees, crossed bridges, navigated boulders, tripped over tree roots, balanced on boardwalks, climbed stairs, and descended one amazing tree trunk stair case.
The SHT runs 300+ miles from the Canadian border to south of Duluth. We hiked SOBO (southbound) from the 270° Overlook to just north of Lutsen over 12 days. You can read more blog entries about our SHT adventures here.
