After a teary closing ceremony at family camp, Daley and I were sitting on a bench overlooking Burntside Lake as dusk settled in. As we gazed over the beautiful scenery, he said, “Mom, you know what is going through my head?” Then he started to sing the traditional campfire song, “I Want to Linger.”
This was our second year attending Camp Du Nord’s week-long family camp. As I have written before (“Summer Family Camp“), the experience was filled with outdoor play and learning, silly songs, and great people. In particular, the young counselors and staff provided our children a deeply positive experience through their enthusiasm and engagement.
We created this montage to share a glimpse of the joy created by these fabulous role models. As you’ll hear Daley and me sing, we’d love to linger a lot longer with these wonderful people.
Thank you to all the counselors, LPDs, and staff for giving us the gift of these memories.
