Enjoy the outdoors together as a family this spring while making a positive impact on our community. Here are 4 upcoming ways to make a difference (each has been kid-tested and kid-approved by Daley or Finley). Know of any kid-friendly volunteer activities around Duluth? Leave a comment with the details.
April – Raise the Roses at the Rose Garden. This is a great way for kids to dig in dirt and learn about gardening in the Northland.
May – Stamp Out Hunger across Duluth with a nation-wide food drive. Get exercise, explore a new area of town, and learn more about local poverty and hunger.
June – Plant Community Flower Pots. Enjoy the feeling of dirt between your fingers and the smell of flowers while helping beautify Downtown Duluth and Canal Park.
June – Participate in the Day of Caring with the Head of the Lakes United Way. The variety of opportunities are endless so you are sure to find a project of interest to your whole family. In past years, our family has enjoyed picking rhubarb to end homelessness in Duluth, as well as cleaning up the railroad tracks.
Community volunteering offers so many rewards for families and children. Volunteer together as a family this spring and build a stronger connection to each other and our community.
